As life-long supporters and now main shirt sponsor of Hull KR, MLS Group has joined forces with Hull FC sponsor, Bambu Scaffolding to work on K2, Hull city centre’s landmark redevelopment project.

Bambu Scaffolding has wrapped the 14 storey complex. Managing Director, Alex Hall says:

“The Kingston House project has been one which has had quite a lot of positive news recently and has allowed us to work with MLS Group.”

“It’s great to be involved with a flagship project that is effectively changing the city centre for the better. We’ve been involved with some other important projects such as Essex House and Doubletree Hilton on Ferensway.”

“Working with MLS Group has been really good. We’re like-minded people, so for both of us to be involved in a big local project is fantastic.”

Mike Lingard Smith says:
“This forms the start of a great working relationship. We may be rivals on the terraces at KCOM Stadium and KCOM Craven Park but both Alex and I understand the value of trust and loyalty when working on construction projects. Being able to rely on a local company is of utmost importance to MLS Group.”

Kingston House to be transformed as part of Hull major regeneration

MLS Group is the principle contractor, managing the refurbishment of the neglected Kingston House in Bond Street, which is set to become the K2 Bond Street development.

The 90,000 sq feet site is being redeveloped by our client, Trade-Park to create office space, as well as 14 luxury serviced apartments and the 100-bed hotel, with a gym, restaurant, bar and a café with a rooftop terrace.

Mark Butters, director at Tradepark Ltd, said:

“K2 will be a revolutionary building, designed for a thriving, modern city. It will bring businesses, creative professionals, residents and visitors together in what will be the first concept of its kind in Hull city centre.”

“The complex has been inspired by contemporary, flexible co-working spaces, serviced offices and apartments in the trendy neighbourhoods of New York and East London, which we believe will attract organisations and enterprising individuals alike.”

“Kingston House is an iconic Hull building thanks to its modernist style and being one of the highest tower blocks in the city centre. But it has dated since its heyday in the 1960s.

“We are bringing the building into the future and creating a bold, multi-space complex where people can work, play, shop, eat and stay at the heart of a regenerated city.”

Councillor Martin Mancey, portfolio holder for regeneration, investment and planning at Hull City Council, said: “We are delighted to see major investment into this prime city centre site, providing a new fantastic offer for businesses, residents and visitors to the city, not only boosting the local economy of the city as a whole, but also stimulating the evening economy of the city centre.”

“Kingston House is ripe for investment and I would like to congratulate Tradepark Ltd on their vision for the future of this well-known building.
